Springer Sear vs. Powder River Safety Striker
I have a Springer Precision sear installed in my XD. This and an overtravel screw have made my trigger action the best I have felt.
Now I read about how good the Powder River Striker Safety lever is at reducing reset. Short reset is nice, but it got me wondering. Will these two parts conflict? Has this combination been tested? Will this create geometry issues? Inquiring minds want to know. |

Great question neuman.
I want a trigger job on both my XDs and I'm going back and forth on which one to get. Springer with the solid trigger bar? Powder river with the trigger bar set screw? Powder River Striker Safety with Barstock (Springer) trigger bar? WHAT TO DO? WHAT, TO, DO? I'll keep an eye on your thread Bro......... And welcome to the forum from Dallas TEXAS............

I don't think the Springer Sear and the Powder River part work together.
The Springer Trigger bar works (I think I read that from Scott) with the Powder River Safety Lever.

We chose to do a sear instead of a lever for many reasons. The stock one is not good for working and we can get a much better sear face with the better material used in our sears. Gunsmiths can use it to make more than just a carry trigger out of it. We also are able to coat it in CRC so that it has a slicker sear face. Over polishing the stock sear can have negative consequences also if not done properly. We improved the grip safety/sear interface. Lastly we wanted a system of parts that will work in all XD's, even the new XD's with manual safeties, and we have that with our 2008 parts. The factory modifys the safety lever in it's trigger jobs and has since day 1. The PRP safety lever just basicaly does the same thing but just fabricated instead of welded and rescut. Our sear will not work with the factory modified safety lever, the trigger bar should, it just needs to be properly fit. There can be issues with drilling the trigger bar also, do so only at your own risk. As with any modifications if you are unable to check for safety and relaiblilty DO NOT attempt them yourself.
