can you change the slide barrel and spring on an xd .40 4" and make it into a 5" and is it cost effective to do so???, i was asked this question by a friend and figured id ask here thanks

no its not since you cant buy a slide from springfield
they wont sell it so you would have to buy a whole gun and then sell the frame an make some of the money back. you might be able to sell one for a good amount since you cant buy the frams from SA either

I thought I saw someone with a 4" and they dropped in the 5" Dragon EFK barrel

yeah..from what ive read...you can put a 5" barrel in a 4" slide...the barrel will just stick out past the end of the slide.

the original poster is asking if he can purchase a 5" slide, 5" barrel, and a 5" spring.

im sure its possible but like someone allready stated....you will need to purchase a 2nd gun since SA dosent sell slides.
