I don't think my XDs are ugly.

How could you say such a thing?

I hope they didn't hear you..............

I believe them to be a work of art.....................

How about you not break cardinal safety rules when you can do it safely against something that is not part of your body. Hell why not test it on your right temple?? What's the difference, you DID check to see if it was "unloaded."

This advice only breaks three of the four rules.

1] All firearms are always loaded. ***
2] Always keep a firearm pointed in a safe direction.
3] Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot.
4] Always be sure of your target and know what is behind it along the bullet's trajectory.

I don't mean to be a prick here, but I have seen someone shot from careless gun handling- and that is careless.

Unhappy

I'm sure everybody's got a story, but about 2 years ago a tac officer of mine from the academy (I'm not going to try to convince anyone of his previous firearm proficiency, you'll just have to take my word for it) shot himself in the leg while starting to clean his service pistol. Worst case came true - got the femoral artery and he died in his living room in front of his wife. This was a super well respected, well trained, very fit 20+ year veteran officer. Just goes to show none of us are EVER above the basic four rules, never let that muzzle cover anything you're not willing to destroy. Is this now a hijacked thread?
