so it was designed that way? I think I like the idea of replacing the guide rod. It has been sometime since I pressed my pistol against an object and needed my guide rod to give me distance.

It dosen't even have to be a bad guy. It could be something like a large dog ontop of you or something like that.

quintillionaire?? heck i'm not even a fivehundredaire, that's what's keeping me at one XD... 45compact is next tho... and the guide rod is just what it is... I dont even notice it sticking out.

This guide rod was a feature I learned about after I owned the XD and all I thought was "Gee, this thing just keeps getting better."
