I have 3 XD's total, an older SS, black slide, and a one week old gun. The finish on the new gun is much much nicer than the older ones.
I just got back my black slide tactical from SA and they refinished the barrel and slide and replaced my take down catch, slide stop, and grip safety with what appears to be new parts. The work order says they refinished the slide and barrel with armory coat and it is real nice and I am pleased with the work and warranty service. Compared to the new gun, the re finish is not quite as dark and deep. My SS gun is showing some rust and it is kind of a pain to keep clean. I have gotten out my polishing supplies and started polishing it. It got rid of the rust and really sealed the pores. I need to spend some more time on it to even it out but it seems to be coming along. Depending on how the home polish job goes, I may still send it out for hard chome or NP3. I really like when everything is coated but the frame. I carry my guns for a living and am very good about wiping them down once a week at a minimum and any time they get exposed to rain or snow and still had the issues with the early guns. |

Nothing yet. I called today and they did not find the receipt I sent with the gun. Thankfully I saved the original and they said to mail it to them and they would cover it. Shipping was a little over $39.00.

Nevermind, I found what I needed with a search. Was being lazy last night.
