Red Tool
I've been searching around here, and in the owners manual and haven't found out what this red tool in the pic is for. Looks like something to help get a spring in or something, beats me and makes me feel as stupid as I look... sucks.
![]() What is it for?!??

IIRC you put it in your chamber and close the slide GENTLY on it when you store the gun empty. It makes it easy for anyone who picks up the gun to know that it is empty.....not that they shouldn't be checking anyway...they should.

Since I always keep my XD loaded, I didn't have a use for it initially. Now I use it like a dip stick to check the blinker fluid level in my jeep.

Don't discard it just yet - - some ranges mandate that you have a chamber flag in the gun when you lie it on the table when the range is "cold".
