Question about my new XD .40 5in. Tactical
I purchased this at a show and found it to be accurate and fun to shoot, I went to one our Gun Shops and noticed that on the Right side of their pistols say made in Croatia, mine say's Springfield, Genesco, IL, why did they change that, I called and found out mine was made June 2004, also mine did not come with a foam lined case just the plastic one with no holster, mag loader or mag holder, the person I bought it from gave me everything but a mag loader. Anyway I still love the pistol, and was just wondering about where it was actually made. Allan.

They're all made in Croatia. Basically, there was a pistol made over there by a company called HS Produkt. It was named the HS2000. Springfield acquired the rights to import it into the USA, and renamed it the XD with a few cosmetic touchups. Springfield is based in Illinois, but the gun is made in Croatia.
