Serious ???

I went to Sportsmans warehouse and they gave me the number of a gunsmith. I called him and he said he could get my trigger to 4# for 60.00 should I have him do it or should I spend 215.00 to have it done from springer?.. This guy just modifies the current trigger pieces and springer replaces them so please let me know what you think...thanks,curt

All I can tell you is that after hundreds of guns, Springer has the process down. My XD9 was adjusted, new sights installed, guide rod, etc and I'm COMPLETELY happy with it.

If your smith has as many positive feedback responses as springer I'd say go for it... But, I feel that may be unlikely...

I will be happy to do your trigger job for $20.... I've been meaning to practice and don't want to risk my own guns...

of you decide to take the plunge and dont wanna buy the parts pm me and ill send you pics of what you need to do, i posted a video a while back with my trigger pull, got it down to exactly 1.5 pounds and pre travel and total trigger distance to fire down to a rediculous number.

here ya go found it
here is the vid of the pull and reset, im about to pull out my dads new caliper and post the results of the old trigger job video and the new one.
http://www.fileden.com/files/2006/12...5/MVI_1226.avi

total pretravel is 3/64ths of an inch with a total pull of 1/8th of an inch to fire the gun

Where did you come up with that kind of price from Springer?

Their Combat carry trigger job is only $125 and shipping is about $50. Thats way less than $215.00. For that price, you could throw in a feed ramp polish.

Here is a copy of the e-mail he sent me:
It would be $175 for the trigger (with Springer precision sear, springs
and trigger bar) and $45 for shipping.

Then I guess he changed his workorder price list in the past few weeks. Mine, I downloaded on my hard drive, still says $125 for combat trigger.

with most of the parts available that are modded during a trigger job nothing is really effected beside the striker area that engages the sear face. the difference is that you know that you did it yourself and you can refine it as much as you want, ive been working on my trigger for about 2 years and have refined it to where it is now trying different ways during the process.
