Happen to Anyone else???

On my Xd 9mm I have a weird problem, when I remove the slide to clean it. The guide rod and spring assembly seems to get stuck in place under the barrel. It seems as if the rod slide up and is not center with the hole. I can remove it easily has not caused any noticable problems. Im just curious is this a normal thing? To remove it all i have to do is push down on the end right below the muzzle and it pops out. Any help would be great. Thanks

I'm having a hard time visualizing what you are talking about here. The XD9 uses a "captured" spring. Meaning the guide rod and the spring are one piece. When you assemble the slide, barrel, and guide rod the guide rod/spring should stay in place under the barell.

it does but when im disassembling it, it seems stuck. On my 45 it just comes right out as it use to on my 9 but recently it requires some play to get it out.

Sound like there COULD be a burr somewhere. Hard to tell without actually looking at it myself.

Sorry I can't see photobucket pics at work the server blocks it out. Hopefully some one will chime in soon. If the little "button" sticks out just a little that is normal as far as I know mine does it also.

That Spring definately does not look right.. I looked at mine and it is clean no spring showing like that. I would guess that is your problem.

Contact springfield...lifetime warranty or your local gunsmith and see if he can do something with it if you do not want to wait for springfield to fix and return.
