XD Cleaning problem

While cleaning my xd today I ran into an unexpected problem. As I was bringing the slide to the rear, after cleaning, the slide slipped and the barrel caught in an unusual place. It has slipped forward from its normal position and the slide will not move either way. Any ideas would be appreciated.
I have pictures but could not figure out how to add them to the message.

When you go to reassemble it next time, make sure your guide rod is placed correctly and that it is centered!

The recoil rod and spring...

It's seems the recoil rod and spring slip and jams the barrel behind the locking block. Use the carpeted floor and hit it at an angle to the floor to force the slide forward. It worked for me.

Doesnt the book say something about hooking the rear sights on a table and forcing it out like that?

Thanks for the replies although it seems this is jammed beyond my help. I guess it will be headed back to SA. I know the spring was installed correctly and everything was going well until the slide slipped in my hand during re-assembly. I've never had this happen before but I hope it is not a common problem.

I do have another XD 9 Service. The one with the problem is bi-tone and the back up is all black. I'll just have to use the black one until I get the bi-tone back from SA.
