Sight Installation

Has anyone bought sights and had them installed by www. xd-hs2000.com? I just wanted to get some info on thier quality of work (pics would be great) and choices of sights. I want TFO's with front green and rear yellow.

James does fine work. Best give him a call on the telephone, to get an idea of his lead-time and workload. The man has been busy as of late.

I just got mine back from James last week. Turn around time in my situation was about 2 weeks for my 45. There were no tool marks or other installations "boo boos" to report on my slide.
I like the TFOs better then any other night sight I have on any other of my pistols.

I had my Trijicons installed with him last Nov and he did good work. Took a little longer than I would have thought. He is a busy man with school and other jobs and then the gun work.

Like OS sad call him first, you may want to send it to another sponsor, if the time is not what you want, but he did good on mine though.

Thanks I appreciate the input, I have TFO's on my .45 Tactical and I love them. They, and the gun, have held up exceptionally well since I have put about 8000 rounds through the gun since having them installed.

After I got back from range master school (5000 rounds in 10 days) I noticed the front fiber optic tube had backed out about 2 mm's or so. I pushed it in place and put a small drop of super glue in the channel and let it dry. It dries clear and I have had no problems with brightness or backing out since.

TFO = Trijicon?

By the way, what is the longevity of night sights? Also, what color combos give the best sight at night?

TFO's are made by TruGlo. They are fiber optic with a tritium tube inside to produce a glow in the dark.

I love my TFO's. Before I installed them I coated them with DuraCoat clear coat to keep them in place and keep solvents off them. Some use clear fingernail polish. Works well so far.

I don't like my night sights all one color (green typically). For faster target acquisition I prefer a dual color. Right now the TFO's only come in green/green or yellow/green combo, so i bought the yellow/green. I would prefer to have a red/green, but the TFO's don't come that way.

I had trijicons and they were kinda small and weren't too visible during the daytime. Meprolights are much brighter and bigger IMHO, althought the Trijicons work just fine and have a great warranty.
