6000 Round Tune Up?
Well my XD9 has about 6000 rounds through her since January.
I clean it almost everytime but not if I am going back to the range 2 days in a row. Do you think I need to do a detailed strip, de-lead the barrel, etc? She is still shooting fine with zero failures but thought I would ask. |

I left mine at the gun range when it crossed the 10,000 round point. They do the ultrasonic cleaning for $30. That'll get out stuff I can't even see.

Of course it couldnt hurt, but if you aren't experiencing a loss of accuracy or failures of any type, it's not necessary. A gun can never be too clean I guess, but if she's still chugging along with no problems at 6000 rounds, I'd hold off until either 10,000 rounds or you start having problems, whichever occurs first.
