Automatic slide return to the forward position when fresh mag is inserted
I was wonder if it was possible to have my XD-.45 ACP automatically return the slide? For example, when your mag runs dry and you insert a fresh mag and have the slide go forward without the use of the slide release. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

My Xd Does this, but you really have to slam the mag into the well to get it to work. My firing grip places my thumb over the slide release anyways, so if it doesn't work, release is easy to do.

Every HK I've ever touched does this if you insert the new mag with any force whatsoever...kinda cool if you ask me.

It happens because it jars the slide lock out of engagement in the slide.

Switch mags before your last round (i.e., tactical reload).
