I usually clean it after every couple hundred rounds or so. After getting home from the range, I'll give it a quick wipedown with a silicone rag.

After a while (I don't shoot a lot...) I'll totally break it down and clean it good.

Please don't call them clips. They are magazines, not clips.

Always clean your weapon. At my job we are required to clean weapons after every range session. If you can not clean them when you are done. Do clean them within 24-48 hours. It will make barrel last longer as it prevents pitting the barrel from the corrosive salts in the powder. A long with copper build up.

You must be referring to or shooting older surplus ammo, with corrosive primers. If you shoot ammo with corrosive primers, waiting a day or two will certainly destroy your bore. I've shot corrosive WWll 8mm in my Mauser, and waited 2 days to clean it. A BIG mistake.
The only powder I know of as being corrosive is black powder.
