New sights coming

Just ordered some Truglo sights

http://www.asotactical.com/product_i...7faf33d4be5b7e

I've heard installing new sights on the xd40 is a pain but has anyone got a write up or pictures on how to do it?

Piece of cake. Do a search for my posts on this subject. If your smith says it's too tough, get a new smith. Scott Springer and others do it all the time and you don't see him complaining aout how tough it is. Besides that he only charges $30 or something like that to do it. I've done an XD 45 and an XD 40 and this weekend I'm doing an XD 9 for some of my club members.

Good information, did it make a difference punching from left to right or right to left?

I put a set of Trijicons on my XD9SC myself. My XD40SC went to the gunsmith to get the Trijicons put on it cost me 20 bucks and a lot less hassle.

I think i'll be doing the same. I just received a set of TRUGLO Tritium/FiberOptic TFO sights for my XD-9 Service Model and after the pistol a bit, i figured it was worth the extra $20-$30 to have a pro do it.

Just got back from vacation and my sights were waiting for me in the mail, the rear sight came out and installed without too much hassle the front sight required some more work and a little freezer time to break it free but all in all not too bad.
