I noticed many people complained about the guide rod sticking out 4 years ago when I got my XD-40, so I see pics of the new XDM series and noticed the Rod tip is flush with the front of the slide, but the end of the Barrel sticks out about a 1/4" now, can't they engineer the Gun so the Rod tip and Barrel fit flush with the front of the slide? I would rather have it flush, then it can't snag on anything, but my XD-40 still shoots great

Here's my Xd45 Compact. Not a target gun, but used for HD, shooting wild pigs, and as a backup when bowhunting for the 6 "P's": Protection from Pumas, Pigs, Pooches, Pooh-bears and Punks.
