I promised Sprinfield Arms....

That I would tell you people here that the customer service I have received so far from them for a 40 cal. ported xd ...not a single shot fired through it, that if they were as rotten to me as i was treated I would not tell anyone to buy a single one of their pistols. That being said let me explain... I bought the weapon as a way to teach my wife to shoot.. less recoil and muzzle flip. However after some thought and a call to sa , I thought why not get a regular barrel from them and that way I could carry it.... less muzzle flash etc. no problem the customer rep tells me... three days later and no call from the custom shop I call again to see what is going on, i am informed that it would be "cost prohibitive" to do so?? What ??? I am an ex arms instructor and know that it is possible and does not, I repeat does not violate their liability or their warranty if done by sa. I was even told so by their rep. Instead they told me to just more or less buy another gun?!?!!! So in short I feel slighted , cheated and short of giving me a free unported xd I feel that it is my duty to let you know what is really happening at sa. If I am wrong I should hear from them in a day or three???!!! no one tells me how to spend my hard earned cash and I hope you all get the same message I got from this...... If you want to do something to spend money with us and we do not think it is cost effecient go get another one of our finely customer service represented products!!!! I hope they prove me wrong.....

So since they didn't return your call in a few days, and you didn't like their answer, you demand a new gun? My 18-month old makes more reasonable demands.

Springfield Armory doesn't sell additional barrels for their XD's. You have to go through EFK or Bar-Sto, who would gladly take your hard-earned money in exchange for a non-ported XD40 barrel. If you don't like my answer, I suggest you hold your breath waiting for me to send you a new gun too.

No Parts from SA..................

Sounds like you are being treated just like the rest of
us. Their policy is: no parts and a barrel is a part of
the XD.

Glad that you interpret their policy like the rest of us.

I a m so sorry I did not make myself clear... they said it was not a problem to put a unported barrel on the gun .... it was just you should just go buy a new gun instead of sending us a gun to put the barrel on!! can u guys read ?? It is a matter of their economics not mine. And thanks for the kiddy reference. Also the custom shop can do it if i send it in which was the "plan"

Are you saying you attempted to buy an unported barrel from them, or you called and asked them to send you a free barrel?
