sub-compact qustions

Giveing some thought into passing up on the XD40v10 and maby getting the SC moddle with the light built on it. do thay sell mag's with extentions and if so would that give a normal sized man's hand enough room for the pinky finger? Also how well do thay shoot in a 40. or 9mm. as small as thay are i would think a 40 might make for sore hands when practising.

im not able to rent one and the clost one is a hours drive from me wich is why im asking so many dumb qustions

I've got an XDSC 9mm and will try to answer your questions. First off, just one clarification - the light comes as a separate attachment and can either be purchased as part of a kit with the gun or separately. It's easily removable. Just addressing your comment of "with the light built on it".

I have 15 round mags with the sleeve on them which extends them well beyond the minimum length for my pinky. I've also got 10 rd mags and use pearce extensions, which work fine for adding a small amount of space for my pinky. My hands are slightly larger than average - given that they've both been broken several times.

With respect to accuracy, I am still amazed at the accuracy of these little guns. Granted, I get better accuracy down range with my 92F - but I'm very comfortable using the XDSC as my carry weapon and I often use it when we have friendly competition amongst friends (and I can win with it).

Hope that helps.

A 15 round MAGAZINE with sleeve came with my XD sub. You can buy them from the sponsors on this forum. It is nice to have extras.

XD40 SC's mag

The extended mag that came with the XD40 sc that I just bought was only 12 rounds.

I'll put another plug in for the Pearce Grip Extensions. In my opinion, they're pretty much manditory for the SC. Also, the XDgear mag sleeves are great.

Your decision should depend on what you'll use it for.

If for conceal carry, the sub is a great choice. I carry the xd40 SC with pierce grip every day. IMO if it's not for carry, I'd go with the Service. If you're intent on carrying with more the 9+1 rounds in the sub by using the extended mag, I'd just buy the Service. It doesn't make sense to me to buy the Sub and carry with the extended mag, you may has well have just purchased the Service. It's easier to conceal barrel length than it is grip length.

I use the extended mag as my spare, in my front left pocket, easy enough to hide there.
