i was looking on springfeilds site and saw something called armory kote. it was listed as a optional finish. any one know what it is?

Just a spray and bake IIRC..

thanks. whats the best after market finish? once i get my XD " cant wait" and after it broke in ect it will spend long periods of time in my dresser/car and with all the moister in the summer time air were i live i am conserned with rust wich iv heard is a bit of a problem with XD's so i would like to get something a little tougher. is there a place that i can send it to that does finishing/treatments like whats on the glocks? or does springfeild have a service? i dont want the stainless moddle because i hate the two tone look.

The new XD's starting with the 45ACP model will have this treatment. Next 'best' finish (IMO) is hardchrome. www.trippresearch.com
Both treatments are really durable.

just looked on the springfield site and can't find what he's talking about. i just bought a used 40 and the finish is <worn> in some areas. would like to redo it.

Tripp charges $80 for a slide + $12 shipping to send it back. I heard that on Mar 1, however, he will have a price increase.
