Haven't removed mine, but I've heard that freezing it can help.

The front sight is pinned. The pin has to be removed before pressing out the sight. Is he using an XD installation tool?
An overnight trip to the refrigerator may help, or a sharp tap with a brass punch to the base of the sight.

When did they start pinning the sights?
I have changed the sights on two of mine, and didn't see any pins.
I just use a vice with leather pads, a STEEL punch, and a 3# hammer. Then hit it until it goes.

I'm wondering the same thing.

I put mine in the freezer the used a brass punch and banged the hell out of it. It took about 15 very solid hits to knock it loose. There are several threads on this do a search. Right to left to take them out.
