I am about to purchase an XD-40, it was just yesterday that I read that the barrels might be interchangable. Are all interchangable on the 9mm 357 and 40 in the 5 inch version?? Can I make my 40 a 9mm later just by swapping the barrels and mags??

yes, 40 to 9mm, 40 to 357 & 357 to 9mm, and 357 to 40

Might I add additional info.

If you purchase the Tactical in 9mm, you cannot
convert it to the other two calibers.

If you purchase the .40S&W or .357SIG Tactical,
either can be switched from one barrel to the other.
These would need to be after market barrels as SA
does not sell barrels for the XD.

In order for the latter to be converted to a 9mm,
you must purchase an after market barrel in 9mm
bull barrel. Makes sense that the bigger hole has
to be filled with the same sized mass.

I just got a HS 2000 (2nd Generation) in excellant condition.
I was wondering can you go from a 9mm to .357 sig by changing barrel,
recoil springs and mags or is it just possible to go .40 to .357 sig???
