Will this SIG front sight work on a XD

I have mt XD-9 Service modle on lay away and was looking for a night sight.

I saw this fron sight:

SIG 220,229,245 #6 Front Night Sight, Trijicon New SigLite
http://www.cdnninvestments.com/sig226frnisi.html

for $9.99.

Is this a good one for the XD?

If it is what do I need to install it myself and how do I do it?

Thanks,

wwglen

I maybe wrong, but I believe you need a SIG #8 front. The #6 will change your POA too much and you will shoot high. Someone please correct if this is wrong.

With the Sig Sights, either front or back, as the number goes up you POI will go up. It is 1” at 25 yards for the front sight and 2” at 25 yards for the rear sight. This information comes straight from the manual.

So since the XD is set up fot the 6 o'clock hold at 25 yards (about 2" above the point of aim) then the lower fron site post (6 instead of will make it hit point of aim?

I like the point of aim/point of impact better anyway.

yes, if your front sight is a #8 then a #6 would drop your POI 2" at 25 yards.
