New XD40 Owner here
Ive recently purchased a SA-XD40 4inch version and so far I absolutely love this firearm...Its a solidly built, very consistant and very reliable pistol, Ive mainly shot Federal FMJ's and the Hornady TAP 155grains through it, never had one bobble...
Is there anything I should know about this pistol? Anyone have a preferred load they like to shoot? Im new to the handgun arena, so help me out please! Nice site btw, I have enjoyed my lurking |

Welcome to the Forum
Tar-40, welcome to the forum.
This is the best and only place to learn about your adopted machine. Please lurk forever as there are tons of info to read. You say that you are new to the firearm arena. Please read all that you can absorb and then read it again. Then, my suggestion, get proper firearms training. Do the basics and do them right. Even the most experienced gun people still get educated at each opportune time they can. I will be going this Sunday, New Years Day, to spend the day learning a little bit more. Ed |

Well, in trying to be as safe as humanly possible, Im going through a CCW course in the next few weeks, I highly doubt I will ever carry, or need to use my XD in self defence, but I would rather have the training and Liscnece and not need them, instead of the unlikely event that a situation arises and I do need them, but dont have them...
I have been doing quite a bit of research since I purchased this gun, which was a bit of a impulse buy...but a damn good impulse buy it seems... Thanks for the welcome! Aaron |

I own one my self and like it alot. All I would add to the others is clean your gun each time you use it and make sure it is oiled well especially where the bullet slides into the chamber and on the slide itself. Have fun be safe.
