Wow.. just read the entire thing. Long read, but worth it.
Our military men and women put up with a lot, whether they're overseas fighting or back home. I can't imagine having to do what these casualty assitance officers do. I've seen them at funerals I've been to when riding with the Patriot Guard Riders. You can see the connection these families create with their assigned officer. |

This absolutely worth taking the time to read. It gave me a new appreciation for our Armed services and Veterans at the same time. I printed out and passed it on to several co-workers as well. I think I am going to have to pick up the book.

I was on several funeral details during Nam. What got to me was how many Mothers refused to believe that was their boy in the box.
Guess it hasn't gotten any easier.
