bkelm18, are/where you an EM?

I'm an EM2 in Mobile Inshore Undersea Warfare Unit 105 that was converted to an inshore boat unit. We just came back from Kuwait, but thankfully its very peaceful there and no one had to come home this way.

This occurrence happening overseas is too tragic for me to find words for.

Man, that was pretty gut-wrenching. I don't think I've ever heard about the soldiers who actually have to show up on the deceased doorstep to tell the next of kin before. Thats gotta be really, really difficult. My hats off to every soldier out there and I pray that my own friends over there as well as everyone else make it back home to their families.

This story really got to me when I first read it. I would love for my wife and others to be able to read it now. Could someone please post an updated link to it? I've checked all over and can't find it. Thanks in advance.

The link to the article is not working. I would very much like to read this article, does anyone have it saved? If not does anyone know how to look it up on rockymountainnews.com, they have an archive. If someone could tell me they day in 2005 that it was published on the internet that would be helpful.

Thanks

Yeah, I'd love to read it, but the link goes to Col. Rockies info. Not to disrespect the NL, but I'm an American League kind of guy. Yes I love the DH!

But I'd rather read the article everyone's shedding a tear over. The link is dead.

Every time I was deployed to Kyrgyzstan we used to see flag draped caskets come out the back of C-17's every night it seemed like. Every time one of my younger troops would complain we would go and watch them unload the caskets so they could see that when you think you got it bad someone else has it worse...always brought a tear in my eye and lump in my throat.

Just thought I would share that.
