Shot coyote with XDm 9

Found out its really hard to get a steady shot off a 2555 John Deere tractor. I was running the 15' bushgog yesterday cutting the fields and this big ass coyote came out in the field just walking around. He would walk a bit ,stop and did then walk a bit.Anyways i got a shot off hitting it in the back hip or leg(again hard to shot off moving tractor) def wounding it. It managed to make it back into the woods before i could get another shot off so i followed it in the woods but couldn't find.....dam thing got away from me!! Hopefully ill have better luck today if one comes by my path!!

Yeah, they start coming around my place at night looking for chickens, or just after calfs are born. But a couple of Mexican Jack donkeys has pretty much taken care of the problem.

Think of them like mice that look like dogs. Coyotes have their place in nature,.... just not around people.

Nice shootin Jeremy. Next time take a rifle.

I shoot every f'n coyote I can find. People have no idea how destructive they are unless they farm. I lost 8 goat kids in one summer to them. I'd find a way to mount an AR on the tractor.

good you hit him, glad you attempted to finish him off. next time empty the mag is all i can say (if you have a spare that is). you might just need to ignore someone questioning you on shooting varmits, esp distructive varmits on YOUR property. thanks for posting. i enjoyed the read vicariously (if i spelled that right? my drive by post here anyway)

It was a valid question. Now that I know the whole story, it makes complete sense. And I am a hunter and l live in AZ, but you're not shooting the coyote for food, so I'd hardly call that hunting.
