So, do I have to call the Mexican carry something else now?
I guess the options are Central American carry, Hispanic carry, or the jam-it-in-the-waistband carry. Just so long as the PCness doesn't go overboard, I suppose I'm cool with this.

For the record, historically the term "Mexican Carry" was never a negative term. If you look up where the term came from, you will see that the term came from the Mexican vaquero.

I understand what the board is saying, and agree with it.
But.. I just don't understand how groups of people can lower the American flag, and fly their choice of flags over the American flag, and nothing is said about it. Or, How the Muslims in England got the banks to all stop allowing "piggy banks" in their branches because it offended the Muslims. Please note that the "piggy bank" first started life as a jar made out of a clay type material called something close to pig, then as a joke somebody started being able to shape the jar bank into a bank shaped like a pig. And yet, it is ok to say "whitey" , "honkey", "infedel" ,"satans sons" ,etc. I just don't understand. I just read where the American school systems are having a hard time with "holiday" days off for the students due to so many religions demanding different days off for themselves. When I was a kid in school, everybody just took off the days and shut their mouths. IF you NEEDED to take off time for a holliday or relirious convention, you told the teacher and principle and they and you worked it out. Now everybody wants to be special. I just don't understand. |

I just wanted to say that I am mexican, and I have no problem whatsoever with the term "mexican carry". Just like Kermee said, mexican carry originated from the vaquero, and has no degrading meaning whatsoever. There are actually alot of mexicans who would much rather be called mexican than hispanic, because of the pride associated with the country of mexico gaining its independence from Spain. Anyway, just wanted to say, I personally don't have a problem with the term and I doubt many other "hispanics" do either.
