xd9sc shooting low
I have had my xd9sc for about a month now and have put 500 rounds through it to date. I noticed that it shoots low. i have shot a sig and glock along with my xd at the range, and my xd is the only one that shoots low. Is there any way to adjust the sights, or is this a problem that xd's are known for? Should i take it to a gun smith? Thanks, I appreciate the help.

Never had an XD that shot low unless it was me.
Are you aiming center mass? Don't aim at 6'OClock, POA=POI with the XD's.

+1--- I agree with that totally. With my XD-9-SC POA is POI. What you cover with the front sight is what you hit as long as the front sight is between the rear sights. |

Maybe there is something up with my gun then. Where I aim I always hit lower and I don't do the 6 o'clock aim as it makes me hit even lower. Lately I have been aiming high just to hit center. Shot a Sig and Glock yesterday and both hit dead center which makes me think that it is my gun and not me... although I am completely open to it being me and I hope it is as that wouldn't require taking the gun to a gun smith.
Thanks. Brent |

new sights
Just spoke with Springfield and they are sending me the H sight for my gun to bring up the poi by roughly 3.5-4 inches. Should be here in a week. Excellent customer service.

I've just gone thru the same thing myself.
My XD 45c was shooting 2" low, off hand & a rest, so i e-mailed Megan at Springfield CS on monday of last week. The RS on my pistol had the letter designation "G". I told her that i'd heard of someone else having a problem with their pistol shooting low, and that Springfield sent them another RS that was higher, with a letter designation H. That's what she said they would send me. I received the replacment rear "H" sight yesterday, and installed it. I soaked the rear sight/dovetail notch the night before in penetrating oil so it would be easier to drive out. I chucked the slide up in the vice, and it drove right out from right to left (looking at the back of the slide) with a hammer & punch. I had to file metal off the thickest corners of the new sight. to get it to fit. The dovetail has centering marks to help center the RS up. I loaded 5 rnds. in one of my mags. and setteled in on a rest to test fire at 10 yds. Using a 6 o'clock hold on a 1 1/2 bulseye target, i put 3 bullets in it touching each other, with the other 2 rounds above them. I'ts good i don't have to hold high anymore, to hit what i'm aiming at!

got my H site today. Gunsmith is not in until Tuesday so I have to wait until then. Looks like the H site really helps out from what I have read here. Looking forward to shooting with it on.

I have a XD9SC and my gun has shot low since purchase. Went to the range today and shot at about 7yards and was about 2.5-3" low.
My gun currently has the "g" sight, waht does the "h" sight look like ? Would seem to me that it would be quite tall to change the shot at that distance. I am going to call SA tommorrow. Wouldn't that be found during inspection at factory ? If i purchase night sights for the gun will I need to worry about the sight height in the back?
