Shot XD-45 and SIG P226
The last time I went I shot the XD-9 (first XD I've ever shot, you can read about that here). Today I went with my bro-in-law (he's currently deployed to Iraq, but here for R&R), and shot the XD-45 and SIG Sauer P226.
I'm not yet a good shot, and neither is my bro-in-law (he's good with the M16 though), but we did manage to get some good groups at 7 yards, especially with the P226. We shared all the targets by the way. ![]() ![]() ![]() The XD-45 felt pretty much the same as the XD-9, just more recoil. Accuracy was very similar as well, and once again no problems at all for either one of us. The SIG P226... Wow. It was lighter than I thought it would be (aluminum alloy frame, not polymer like the XD), but it was the accuracy that really impressed me. The second picture, the one that shows the 3 rounds together, those were my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounds fired through that gun. The 1st round was one of the two on the left. It went there because I was used to the recoil from the XD-45, so I moved my hand a bit too much as I shot. The three that followed were all within an inch of each other, which I thought was great. Also, the trigger on the P226 was awesome too, really light (4.5 lbs). Springfield XD-45: SIG Sauer P226:
