XD 9--Service vs SC

Got new XD9 Service to the range yesterday, and burned about 165 rds between me and my son. Also dumped another 50 through my more broken-in XD9-SC. The new trigger was definitely grungy, we both felt like it worked through take-up, then hit a very big brick wall that we had to muscle through compared to the more worn-in sub-compact.

No failures through WWB and Federal HSTs. Accuracy was decent, with some degradation from the frustrating trigger.

'Guess we'll just need to work another few hundred round through it!

Congrats on the new XD! I too have the Service and SC in 9mm, and they are both great guns. The trigger will get there, like you said, you just need to get some more rounds down range with it.

Dig up the thread on here about a gritty trigger. Basically, if you can disassemble your XD and buff the metal parts that rub against each other, you'll get a smoother trigger.
