What is the reasonable cost to a gun club

Hello all, I live in MA on Cape Cod and I am looking for a gun club to go shooting at. There is one in my town but they have a $150 initation fee plus it costs $100 per year. Range looks good there. I found an outdoor only no frills range for $60 a year. Are these reasonable with what it costs? I guess I am too used to shooting on Army bases for $25 a year.

Depends on the location, how many people are around, the cost of real estate etc. I'm a member of a club that is farking sweet with 24/7 indoor access for pistol, .22/air rifle, and archery along with all the outdoor stuff and it's $65/year. There is a club around the corner from my house that's small, but has a nice trap set up and it's only $15/year and $5 initiation.

There is a rifle/pistol club I looked at that was a lot more money, no indoor pistol stuff, no archery, and no trap, but they have a 600 yard range, the longest in the area. It's all relative.

The $65 club I joined was cheaper than going to the indoor range, paying tolls to get there, the gas money, and range fees.

Depends, here in Albuquerque 500.00 gets a family of four a year long membership and all the perks to the indoor range. 100.00 gets you an outside membership at the city range. Then theres another outdoor range that is 100.00 a year but private. Both outdoor ranges are a 100.00 a person. So your prices don't seem to out of whack-

Two indoor pistol ranges I'm looking at are $120 and $100 per year. I think something like $80 initiation, pistols only, 15-25 yds., and at one you have to be NRA member or sign up there and dues are added to membership.

Clubs around me are on the higher end of things that I have seen. But, we are only a few miles from a major metropolitan area. The local indoor range is $150. I pay $150 to belong to a gun club that has its own private facilities. As a member I get a key to the gate and I can shoot any time I want from sun up to sun down. They have several ranges for rifle, bullseye, trap, skeet, multi-use, combat pits, steel target pits and an entire "old town" set/range for cowboy action. I love shooting outside so for me it was an obvious choice to choose the club vs. the range. The club provides a place to go, usually by yourself without any disturbance and shoot at any type of target in a wide variety of settings. I am happy with what I get for what I pay.

I've got family memberships to 2 local ranges, cost me about $100/year total. Once club has a 50 yard pistol range, 50 ft indoor range, and we're working on getting 3 new shooting pits finished. Other club has indoor and outdoor archery, muzzle-loading area, 5 stand and a trap field, 50 yard pistol range, 1000 yard rifle range and a couple hundred acres for members to hunt......

Seems reasonable, especially if its a nice well run range.

The real question: Do you have a choice?

Boulder City Nevada here, Our gun club is $100 for your 1st year and $50 to renew every year after that, it has many 100 yard shooting alleys, and a couple 200's 500's and a 1000 yard. It also has an area for shooting clays. The downside is that its all outdoors, with can be a little warm in the middle of summer.

150 or 200 yard rifle range, skeet/trap range, and pistol steel range. 60 bucks a year if your app gets approved.
