Subcompact XD 40 Range Report Part 3 : Oh the Pain

XD Subcompact 40 Third Range Report Part 3

Okay so I take the XD to the range a third time with some UMC 180 grain ammo to check to see if the ammo was the problem but it had consistent failures to extract at least 1 to 2 times out of every 100 rounds. It is getting progressively worse. It could be the extractor or a rough chamber since there is a circular mark on the top of every piece of brass that ejects from the pistol all in the same place.

Second, the gun is defiantly showing signs of some trigger slap, it hurts to even put a full magazine through it and just to make sure I wasn’t hallucinating I had a range officer try it, he got the same thing.

So the short of it, it’s going back to the factory.

I will post a report of the customer service and repairs I receive.

Sub Compact

I bought my XD40 Subcompact last week. I put 89 rounds of Federal American Eagle (AE40R1) through it on Saturday, without a problem. (the only problem being that my grouping sucked, from 35') I went to the range again today and put 211 Winchester White Box rounds from walmart through it. Again no problems what so ever. (My aim was also getting better.) This is my first handgun, and I love it. I hope that your problems get straightened out. Good Luck.

I've had FTF problems with UMC brands, in both the 40T and 40SC - but no problems whatsoever with WWB.
