First time out with my XD45C
I've been intrigued by the idea of the compact model since it was released. Being able to switch between the compact and full size grip seems like the ideal way to kill two birds with one stone, so to speak. I've also been itching to get a 45ACP lately, I've been shooting 9mm for quite some time but I've been thinking it would be nice to have something that makes bigger holes
I took it out to the range this morning with 50 rnds of PMC Bronze to see for myself if it lives up to the hype - keep in mind this is the first time I've shot an XD and also my first time firing a 45. I must say that I am truly impressed! At 10 yards firing slow I was able to put my first ever 10 rounds of 45ACP inside the 3" circle. I fired using both mags at various speeds, even trying a few double-taps and every shot was inside the 8" target circle. I wish I had the target to post pictures but it started raining on me and soaked out the target and cardboard backstop I was using. Now I'm definitely not the best shot in the world but this gun makes even me look good! And to top it off I didn't have a single failure - it goes bang every time I pull the trigger. The only real problem I can find is that I seem to run out of ammo awful fast! All in all, I have absolutely no doubt I picked the right one for my first 45. I love this gun!!! I am looking into getting a pistol. I have yet to fire it. I was going to get the .40. I was looking for suggestions or any tips anyone would have that would help me out.

my first xd
I picked up a 45 compact at the end of April and I love it. I put 250 rounds through it and the only problem I had was the slide locked back on a mag that had 3 rounds left in it. That happened some where in the middle of the session and hasn't happened since. I think it was my fault as I keep my thumbs up high. The trigger has really smoothed out after that day. (It helps that I dry fired it a lot too)
