I didn't get a price at the preview. Was instructed to call mid to later in the week.
rockerz71 - I found those side rails totally useless because there is a lot of space inside the case. If you are so inclined to do so yuo may attach pretty much any picatinny attachment onto those side rails. The magazine speed loader/assistant loader can actually be mounted to those rails along with rails on the gun. It looked weird but was tried to see if it would work. digitalexplr - It does have a Match barrel but there is more involved, subtle but more. If it was a match gun there is a lot to be desired according to my preferences anyway. The sights would need some work (they are fixed and serrated to reduce glare) and the trigger is well not a Glock but not a SA 1911 either. Last edited by JasonC8301 : 05-06-2008 at 06:01 AM. |

Oh man, you guys didn't even invite me... I'm just down the road.
Looks like you guys were shooting at Target World, or does French Creek Outfitters have an indoor range as well?

Did SA give you a date of expected release?
Will I get a discount if I use my stimulus check to buy one? Hey you said if we had any questions...

rockerz71 - I guess it was a design thing? But its there right..haha...
Krackels - French Creek Outfitters has a 10 lane range. Not really a club but a shoot and leave type of thing. I did not see a club house/room anywhere although there was a archery range upstairs with a table and some chairs. The gun is going to be officially released during the NRA show Thursday I believe. Arrival date in dealer hands is not 100% on my end though. I will call my sales rep Thursday morning/early afternoon and bug him with my laundry list of questions compiled from you guys (some of the stuff I wasn't even thinking about like the frame color.) Discounts will depend on your dealer. French Creek Outfitters has very reasonable prices on their guns. Its a a bit more in my shop because I am located in NYC for one and two the permit costs almost as much as a new Glock/Springfield Armory XD in PA ($439 for the first 3 years of the permit with no 100% of approval.) |

I figured M=Modular, with what looks like a replaceable backstrap. Looks like SA trying to make the XD more like the M&P...Meh...
I like the 'old school' XD better. Especially if the mags do not interchange. |

Is the size and shape negligible enough that holsters made for the XD will still work for the (M)?

Krackels - There was a Springfield XD on hand for comparison purposes but I did not shove it into the holster because it was a showcase gun and not a rental. So I can not give you a definate answer on that one. The thought has not even crossed my mind. I always thought of the Springfield XD holsters as a marketing ploy. I personally don't like them. A friend of mine has an XD 9mm 4" and I hooked him up with a Blackhawk CQC Serpa holster and he says its leaps and bounds above the Springfield holster. |
