I thought the fact that you couldnt by handguns from stores in a different state...was a FEDERAL restriction not a state restriction...

It's nice for them to have "more" options for the market, I am not violently opposed to the new look, it still looks neat and I'm sure there are plenty who will go ga ga over it. But as for me I like the tanky look the origional XD has, kinda like an older muslce car compared to a newer curvery one.... to each his (or her) own.

Here you go - straight from the law books of KY. It's just a great state to live in!

this just figures, not two days ago I was telling my wife that there isn't anything I want, I am happy with everything I have and I have everything I want ... first Fender comes out with a Telecaster with two P90's and now Springfield makes the XD better ... only the one that Robbie had in the video has fiber optic sights and I don't see those anywhere else, so I'll hold off until I find out if those are going to be available as an option so I don't wind up paying $200 for sights and installation just to get sights I'm competitive with

I would think the fiber optic and tritium sight will be available shortly after the initial rush.

The video on the sights at guntalk show the fiber optics as being an option on the XDm, I believe.

On Gun Talk the Springfield reps would not say, but hinted that the 9mm would be an easy one to do next, since it can use the same frame. They also agreed with Tom that a 45 would take longer since it would require a completely different frame.

Again, they did not commit to anything, they just agreed with Tom when he offered these assumptions.

Anyone who missed Guntalk on the radio should go download the podcast from Sunday's show. He was at the NRA Show in the Springfield Armory booth. Tom got answers from them on a lot of the questions about the XDm that we have been asking on here.
