I would shoot two clips at a time and then reload. At 7 yards it seemed that my first 3 shots of the clip were 3-4" left and low of center. The 4-20 rounds were 2" left of center. I am normally a shotgun guy and this is my first pistol. Is this normal to be this off or do you think it is user error. I do understand that a shorter barrel is going to be less accurate, but like I said I am new to pistols and am just looking for more info! I bought the gun for ccw not competition of course so I understand it's not going to be dead accurate.
Also, any good ideas with IWB holsters for the subc?
I would say that you are pulling the gun with your trigger finger..ya might need to practice. As far as a holster, please check out our site www.tennesseeholstercompany.com. We make a fine holster and have them in stock. We also are offering all xd members a special deal and you will get 2 different belt attachments instead of one for no charge.
Please check us out.

I was doing the same thing my first time out with my sc.40...I was getting frustrated because I wasn't hitting targets...I took my buddies 1911 kimber and knocked em all down...I had to relax and position my finger like stated above, on the trigger in between the tip and first knuckle, then it was goodnight bg's

Congrats on the New XD and welcome to the forum!

Just FYI:

Clip=thing that goes in a womans hair to keep it together

Magazine=holds rounds in it for a pistol or rifle, AKA a printed publication

True story...

I walk in to the local Sportsman's Warehouse, go up to the gun counter and ask the guy behind the counter if he has any magazines for the 9mm XDSC. The guy says "wait a minute I'll go check". About 5 minutes later he comes back carrying a copy of "Guns & Ammo", and says that was the only magazine they had, and it didn't have anything about XD's.

I'm looking at this guy like he's joking, but he's not! So, I give him a new look of incredulity, and say "not that kind of magazine. I meant a clip!". He then cops this attitude like I'm the idiot for not calling it by the "correct" name. That really pissed me off. I left the store determined to never go back...

Well, I finally got over it, and have bought a couple guns there since. Every other person I've dealt with at that store has been super knowledgeable, and I've never seen that guy there again.

I use a smartcarry daily. Its 53 bucks shipped from smartcarry.com I wear it daily under dress pants and polo. My clothes is tight enough that anything on the belt will show. The only holster that does not show is the smartcarry. Kinda bumps out a little, but definitely the best holster for true concealment.

Straight thumbs grip

If you have not heard of or seen the straight thumbs grip it really helped my accuracy. Rob Leatham and most pros use it. It's easy and accurate.

Look at The Combat Handgun Grip
for the article explaining and illustrating this. Run through all the pages.

The Don Hume $28 leather IWB open top is awwesome. I bought one and now am a dedicated don hume user. It has great retention for a holster with no thumb strap. Top stays open for re-holstering also!
