It doesn't count for the quality of the XD's reliability, but it does help to know how things work and a "tap and rack" procedure can help. What exactly is that?

I do "Tap, Roll, Rack, Reassess"
Tap/smack the bottom of the mag (while it's still in the gun) Slightly roll/cant the gun to the right so gravity can assist you in clearing the malfunction. Rack the slide- i.e. Rip it back and let it slam forwards Reassess if you need to fire (In a combat situation)
