I figured, as per the norm, one of the bulls got loose and trashed someones car, maybe an ND happened, maybe a ricochet hit the range shack, etc., usual stuff.

uuhhhh? i would find a different range, sux about that guy's gun too.

Let's put it this way.....that's not an option. Unless you were a geopgraphy major, I doubt that you'd even know the name of the place I'm at. I'd go as far as betting you'd be on the wrong continent.

The reason I put those things as "events" is this. 1 - There are cows running around loose and occassionally the bulls get pissed and come after the cars. 2 - They re-load their ammo here and it's all lead cast rounds. You know the ones that dissintegrate on contact with steel poppers. Occassionally a the splatter will come down on the range shack. 3 - ND's happen, that just a fact of life with inexperienced shooters.......or even experienced shooters that think they know everything.

wow, sorry to hear about your predicament. i shot at a range once that had cattle roaming around, i was sighting in my AR, and lets just say i damn near had to pay for a cow that walked out from behind a tree and just abouve my target on a hill, i was shooting high LoL! i don't shoot there anymore. but in your situation, a man's gotta do, what a man's gotta do! good luck and watch your arse!

I witnessed a range suicide about 5 months ago. Ends up the guy had a stroke that confined him to a wheel chair. He came in with his son-in-law and grandson. The four of us were the only ones in the range. He was acting all weird. I am just glad he didnt kill one of them or me bc we were standing behind him at different times. He just put 1911 in his mouth. I will spare you the details but it was disgusting. EMT's got there very quickly to their credit.

A local range in Detroit had their second sucide in 6 months last week. the guy went in and rented a gun, went to the range fired a few rounds then killed himself. The news said he was bi-polar (if that matters). Nobody else was hurt.

i feel bad for 4 sets of people.
1 i feel bad for the poor bastard that thinks the only way out is to kill themselves.
2 i feel bad for the guy that loaned him the gun
3 i feel bad for everyone that saw it.
4 i feel bad for his family

Was that fellow retired military? And was it at an indoor range?

That just sux for everyone involved, sad day when something like that happens especially over something so minor (grades) when compared to a human life.
