range report paRt II
I went to a new local range last Fri. It cost $14.00, or you can get a 3 month membership for $50, which I think I'll do next time around.
I put 170 rounds thru my XD40 svc. I found my accuracy was off thru the first 50-100 rounds. I tried a few things and brought it back in line. I mostly shot at 7 yds. I also tried right/left hand shooting. I found shooting right handed I didn't have too much of a problem. Shooting LH (I'm RH) the gun seemed to twist a bit up and right. I can't explain why this happened but it did. I am R eye dominate ( I'm blind in the L eye), it may have been the way I had the gun lined up or it could have been my grip, I'm not sure. Once again, the 40 shot well. I had no FTF or FTE's. I had no fatigue in my hand or wrist and found that wrapping my thumbs with medical tape it helps with thumb pain from reloading. |
