wow, i need practice

went out to the indoor range near my shop on lunch today.
boy do i need practice!!!
15 rounds at 5 yards, 25 rounds at 15 yards, and 10 at 25 yards
every bullet hit the target, which was a standard NRA 25 yd target, but i used to be alot better. still had great clustering at 5 and 15, but 25 i could really use some practice. i pulled the target after every 5 rounds to check.
im gioing back after work, and gonna get a new target for each distance, and do 15-5yd, 20-15yd, and 15-25yd, that will give me a better idea of where im shootin.

It's getting hard to shoot as much as many of us would like to with the rising cost of ammo. Still gotta do it as much as possible to keep those groups tight.
Still better than a lot of people that I see at the range!!!!!!!!

Not too bad considering there are some 25 yard shots in there. I don't shoot at public ranges much, but I was at one last weekend qualifying for my CCW. There was a guy in the lane next to me (not part of the CCW program) who was littering a full size silhouette with no control, and it wasn't rapid fire..

You should have seen my target the first time I shot my XD. Everything was on the target but I was very disappointed. Considering I hadn't touched a gun in about 4 years I have to take what I can get though. Can't wait to make more trips to the range and tighten up.

That's not too bad. Hold that target up to your chest and see where all the holes would end up if you were shooting at a person. Secondly, don't worry about it, you're more than likely never going to need to engage a threat beyond 10 yards anyway in a self defense situation.

thanks, and yeah, i know that in a defense situation 10yds would be just about max, but i go hog hunting, and god forbid, i miss with the shotgun, it would be quicker to unload a mag of RBCD rounds than to relaod the shottie.

I went to qualify for my CCW this past Sunday and there was a girl there who was rather petite (5' and maybe 100 pounds) and she was shooting her boyfriends tricked out 1911 .45. She was all over the place, hitting the sides of the tube. It was quite the site. It looked like the gun was way too much for her. Then I saw a rather rough looking female go out with a sweet looking .357 magnum revolver with a 8" barrel and put down one hell of a group. We were only shooting at 7 yards.

Looks to me that about every shot hit the torso area,I wouldnt worry to much about it.But of course practice always makes better.IMO good job.
