First Handgun, First trip to the range

I was finally able to get out to the range and fire a few through the new XD-9.

First hundred rounds went through without any issues (not that I expected any).

I shot, using both the 16 round mag and the 10 round mag at distances of 7yd and 10yd.

Not too bad, but with practice I'll group them together better.

First target 7yd (16 round mag)

Second target 7yd (10 round mag)

Sixth target 10yd (16 round mag)

Just for fun

Congrats on the new XD! That isn't bad at all for your first time out with a handgun. If you get the chance, try and practice some dry-firing at home.

Nice shots. Was that standing or at a benchrest?

If you can try a bench rest to practice trigger control and just getting the feel for the XD's trigger. Dry fire is great for this too.

Just an FYI... They're magazines not clips....

I was standing. I'll try the dry fire to help get used to the trigger.
