Just hit 2000 rounds this weekend
I'd been slacking off a bit and not going to my Thursday night USPSA matches due to nasty weather happening every Thursday for the past three weeks. This is not good because my usual range time is during that match. So to get back up to speed I went to the range this weekend to make sure my aim hadn't gotten any worse.
I put my 2000th shot down the range this weekend and so far the only thing that's gone bad with my XD40 has been a magazine spring that causes the rim of the case to jam up against the magazine lip and fail to feed. All I can say is that this is a great handgun to use. I'm going to be adding new sights to it soon if only because the dots on my sights are no longer visible in low light. I tried cleaning them and restoring them to the brilliant white they used to be and nothing much has helped. I'm definitely getting better with the gun, too. My first sessions with the XD were okay, and I would get maybe 60 percent in center mass/A-Zone at 10 and 15 yards. I'm up to 80 percent now and getting tighter groups every time. (I just wish I could do this in my USPSA matches.) Yeah, this gun's a keeper. If I stop using my current XD40 in matches, it will only be because I've gone from a Service to a Tactical model.
