XDcompCO...i'm glad you're okay! Your nickname should be 'bulletproof' or 'ricochet'!

I'm glad you're ok, that would be a serious reality check. I've spent many days out at Dragon Man's enjoying my XD-45. The next time you go just look on the ground between where the "tables" are and the pallets and you'll be amazed at how many rounds are just sitting a few feet away. In fact I picked up one of mine and a 9mm just for comparison and have them sitting at home.

I remember this one time back in Nam when this skinny bastard we were training was popping off rounds all over the place with his Kalatchnikov and I saw one coming at me, so I chomped down and crushed it between my teeth as it was about to hit me in the face. I then stared at him real hard and said something to the effect of, "you're lack of faith disturbs me..." and as the earth started to shake, he dropped down to the ground dead. Pretty crazy days back then in Nam, I was in...Sang Bang, Dang Gong... I was with the Green Berets, Special Unit Battalions...Commando Airborne Tactics...Specialist Tactics Unit Battalion. I was Agent Orange, Special Agent Orange, that was me.

Here's my gratuitous range shooting story.
Last year, my buddy decides to bring his 10 year old son to the range. He is divorced, and wifey has custody of the kid. He picks him up on visitation day, and brings him out shooting with us. As we are standing at the counter getting targets and ears, my buddy goes on to tell me that he got into a huge fight with his ex-wife about bringing the son to the range. He made a comment about "not wanting my son to grow up and be a puss" because he lives with his mom. Anyhow, his son was standing there, visibly nervous, and flinching with every muted bang that was coming from the range. We go into the range, and I SWEAR to all things holy, that within about 10 minutes the kid shreiked and grabbed his arm. He was in pain and crying. It only took one quick look to tell that he had gotten hit by a ricochet. He was ok, and the skin was lightly broken and the round fell to the ground beside him. It was a wadcutter. Talk about bad luck, $hitty timing, and a kid that will probably never touch a gun again. Not to mention, the kid wanted to go straight home to mom. YOWZA! I am glad that I didn't have to be the one to do that.
