What distance was the pallet that they were shooting?

Glad you weren't injured. +1 on the bullet pic. I hope you wear bullet resistant glasses or goggles when you shoot.

Strange that I had a similar experience earlier this week at an indoor range. While collecting brass after shooting, my roommate found what looks to be a .45 caliber bullet. He found it right around his feet. We swept the stalls before shooting to make it easier to pick up our cases. Anyways here is what he found.

Exactly what I was thinking of.

Talk about lucky.

Glad your ok. About 10 years ago I was shooting in a bowling pin match when a flatened out lead 45 slug smacked me in the side of the neck. Knocked me out cold. The slug was a little bigger than a quarter and about a 1/4 was sticking out. It was removed in the emergency room and I got a few stitches. I returned the next day to finish the 2 day match. I still have that bullet and the scar.

man this is crazy. readin all these stories makes me think i got shot before (kinda). i was at the range about a month ago, let me first give u the layout. 4 stalls im all the way on the right, one other person in there either 2 or 3 stalls over. i was replacing my target wen i felt something hit my foot. and the first thing that went through my mind was i just got shot! i looked down and didnt see anything (blood or otherwise) though. i was wearin steel toe boots. but i just shrugged it off and figured it was nothin. but now i think i did! wat do u guys think??

glad your alright... Ya catch flak all the time R.O.ing matches... I actually caught a .40 slug in my hand by accident today... guy was shooting under a barricade and some steel plates about 10yds, and i was knelt down behind him. one of the shots came back and hit me in the palm that i was holding the timer with, and actually stuck between my hand and the timer...

I was shooting a steel pistol target with a 32-20 revolver last year. Plate was 30 yards away. on the 5th shot I heard it hit and then seen a dark object flying back at me and hit me in the chest. After rubbing my chest for a couple minutes and thinking that this was a rare thing, I shot again and same thing happened but I used my cat-like reflexes to turn sideways and catch it on my right thigh. I then became smart and moved 35 yards away.
