So I guess the .40 caliber does have sufficient knock down power. I'm glad you were able to walk away after the accident! Now you have one cool story to share for the rest of your life.

Technically I think you could have shot back in self defense...But like Tyson said..everyones got a plan untill they get hit.

Ok, seriously - I wonder why the metal targets at ranges and match shoots dont do the same. Can someone "in the know" explain that too me?

I saw a similar thing not long ago. A local club had a small shooting competition about a month ago. One of the guys shot a steel plate with his .45 and it bounced back and hit a man sitting back behind the shooting stations. Didn't penetrate but left a hell of a bruise.
