I must like this thing

It just dawned on me today when I was ordering my next case of 9mm ammo that I must really like my new tactical because according to my calendar, I put over 1k rounds through it in 27 days. Other than my 3 days at TDI, I've never done that w/ a single gun before. If I figure 4 weeks of league at ~ 60 rds a week plus sunday's match @ 120 rds, that still leaves me w/ roughly 600 rounds downrange just for "fun".

It's also an average of just over 37 rds a day. No wonder my shooting seems to be improving.

Probably doesn't hurt that it is a Canyon Creek Tactical XD9. But then I have put almost a 1000 rounds down range in the past 15 days trying to learn the DA trigger of a Beretta 92. So now there is an XD9 in layaway. The Beretta will become a student gun of what not to buy.

I don't like the long D/A trigger pull followed by the short S/A pull because I usually find I am using a different part of my finger for S/A. The Beretta is one of the few semi automatics designed to drop a round directly into the chamber, most requiring feeding through the magazine to prevent damage to the extractor.
