XD-45
Put 100 rounds through new XD-45 tactical today. Very nice, I couldn't tell any difference in recoil from my XD-40 service and the 45 Tac(230gr. Win). I was able to get better accuracy from the 45 than the 40, though that could be from it being a 5inch barrell compared to the 40's 4 inch. I shot from 20ft, 30ft, and 50ft. All shooting was done in the standing position and I was able to do very well. If you let yourself get flippy wristed this gun will let you know by throwing brass at your head. Also watch your thumb position. I got too relaxed on one shot and let my wrist and hold get loose and the brass brazed my hair and I inadvertantly locked the slide back with my thumb. But that was my fault and it only happened that once. All in all this is a very nice gun that will be replacing my XD-40 service. It has the same recoil, more accurate and more power. The only downside is you get a 9 shot clip instead of 12. Shell prices seem resonable too, I got a box of 50 for $12.95. Of course I will be reloading to get the prices even lower. If anyone has any loading data for 200 or 230 grain lead bullets for the GAP please let me know. Thanks.

I'm really pleased with my 45 GAP tactical also! You can find an interesting reloading article in this months Guns and Ammo. Also, the Bulldog discussion forum on GlockTalk is devoted to the 45 GAP. You'll find the lighter bullets are snappier through your tactical.
Have fun! Rotnguns |
