Took out a first-timer...

Today was great! I got my brother-in-law out to the range with me to shoot my XD9. It was his first ever time at a range, and shooting a handgun. He actually did great! We spend about 20 minutes at home going over safety at the range. Once we got there I spend about 15 minutes with him going over grip, sights, trigger pull, etc. We each shot about 50 rounds and he did great. He is getting ready to leave for basic training (AF) so he was really happy to get some range time in before going through gun training in the AF.
I love taking guys out for the first time, it is so fun to teach them safely and watching them have a blast.

And how wise of you to cover safe handling at home, not at the range.
