2nd Time Out...MUCH Better!

This past Saturday I went to my local outdoor range to get some practice in with my new XD-9 Service. This was my second time out with this gun, and my second time out to the range period. On my first trip I put a 100 rounds down the lane and did fair for my first time.

This second trip I really concentrated on a proper grip, and a nice slow trigger pull. The results were much better.

This was my first magazine (16 rounds) at 7 yards. Better than my first trip...

Next, I shot a full magazine (16 rounds) at 15 yards. I was pleased with this.

I moved back to 7 yards and really focused on my trigger work. A nice slow pull, letting the gun "surprise" me as it went off. I was REALLY pleased with this. Everyone of the shots that wasn't part of the main group was a shot where I rushed the pull and therefore jerked a little bit. Two full magazines...32 rounds...

This was a huge improvement, and I am very happy my shooting for only my second time out. I love my XD even more now!

Nice. Ragged holes on targets give me something to smile about. Almost looks like vertical stringing, so I'd recommend snap cap drills to tighten it up. Cheers,

Yeah, I definitely need to tune in my vertical shot placement. More dry firing for me!
