Shot my XD-9 For the First Time Today!

So, I was able to hit the range today for the first time with the XD Service I picked up last week. After having shot my 12lbs trigger pull S&W Sigma, all I can say about the XD is... *drooooooooooool*

To preface, I bought my Sigma on July 30th and it was delivered about a week later. I wasn't able to fire it for another two weeks, per an agreement with my wife that I'd take my safety courses first so, technically, I've only been shooting around 2 months.

I brought along 300 rounds with me and went to do the first NRA Handgun Qualification course of fire where you acquire 5 rounds in 10 8" targets -- I used 9" paper plates per their recommendation... Here're my first eight:

This was at 15'... as you can see, on the eighth plate, my second round got away from me, but outside of that, I'm exceedingly pleased with the performance of the weapon (and myself) and think that this is probably the smartest purchase I've made.

dave_in_delaware showed up and brought his camera for some movie action so, when I see him next, I'll grab those and put them up on YouTube.

Looks good. Was this part of the course, or just practicing for the course? I just received my new XD-9 Svc this past weekend, and won't be able to shoot it until this weekend. I can't wait!

This was part of the course -- I'm looking forward to making it out again sometime soon to get a bit more practice in for the next parts.
